Gypsum board is the generic name for a family of panel-type products consisting of a non-combustible core, primarily of gypsum, with a paper surfacing on the face, back, and long edges.

Gypsum board is often called drywall, wallboard, or plasterboard and differs from products such as plywood, hardboard, and fiberboard, because of its non-combustible core. It is designed to provide a monolithic surface when joints and fastener heads are covered with a joint treatment.

  • Aqua-Tough®, Fiberock® Brand ( USG )
Fiberock® brand panels are manufactured from a unique combination of gypsum and cellulose that provides superior strength. These durable, abuse-resistant panels can be installed and finished using basic drywall techniques. Fiberock® products that incorporate USG’s patented Aqua-Tough® formulation also offer integral moisture-and mold-resistance. Its uniform composition won’t weaken if the surface is penetrated by moisture. Used in numerous applications, Fiberock® brand products include interior, abuse –resistant panels, tile backer board, underlayment and sheathing.
